Soldiers off the street is a new organisation setup by a group of dedicated people, to help ex service personnel that have found themselves homeless and living on the streets throughout the United Kingdom, we think it is a national disgrace (but we will not go down that road at the moment). We intend to do our best to help as many as we can regain a normal life off the street.

Soldiers off the street; Intend to setup a number of ways to help homeless ex service personnel living on the streets as follows:

Soldiers off the street now have a head office to work from, 21A Chester Street, Wrexham, LL13 8BG. Opening at the end of September 2009. From here we intend to setup the organisation throughout the United Kingdom with key points in every city.
We are now in the process of looking for a warehouse where we can store clothes and parcels etc.

We intend to have a fleet of vans, with one in every city handing out clothes and food to homeless ex service personnel, the vans will also be used to collect clothes, food and furniture to help homeless ex service personnel setup their home once we have helped them find a home.

The first thing an homeless ex service personnel sells, in order to live are their medals. Once we have helped them settle we intend helping them recover them back, they are the rightful owners not some collector or dreamer.

Here is a list of things we intend achieving with your help:

  • Vans on the streets handing out clothes, food and parcels throughout the United Kingdom.
  • Actively finding accommodation willing to accommodate ex service personnel throughout the United Kingdom.
  • Actively trying to reunite ex service personnel with their families throughout the United Kingdom.
  • Setting up offices throughout the United Kingdom with dedicated people.
  • Changing the Soldiers off the street organisation to a charity as soon as possible with your help, as we need to raise £5,000 annually first.
  • Finding people that are good at raising funds (Fundraisers).
  • We know there is a lot of other ways of helping homeless ex service personnel living on the streets and we will deal with these problems as they arise.
  • We are very ambitious with what we intend achieving to help homeless ex service personnel.
  • We know we can only take one step at a time until Soldiers off the street is national.
  • We need your help with your generous donations, but it does not stop there we also need volunteers for a number of positions within Soldiers off the street see how you can help, if you can spare just a few hours a week please contact us.

We will be trying to obtain an empty MOD barracks as a centre for ex-services for drug/alcohol services, nutritional services, occupational therapy (even cookery classes to help them to learn to fend for themselves when they eventually return to the community), practical help to link with local employers to help them find work again, building social skills again by group activities, using the station medical station as a "group surgery", creating sports groups at the station gym (exercise is a great aid to recovery), creating links with housing associations and help with form filling where necessary, even getting the C.A.B on board for general advice about council tax debt and other financial advice.

Please remember without your help and donations everyday you think of helping, means that a person that laid their own life on the line for our country will be sleeping somewhere in the freezing cold.
